I'm working on a new website...

and I'd like to ask for some contributions to get the site going, if you will....

I'm looking for some hot pictures of girls in their full geekdom... dressed up, inked out, etc.

These must be pictures of YOU. No models, unless you are a model and you give consent to use said picture...

And also some hot pics of guys in their full geekdom... same rules apply...

If you'd like to contribute in another manner -

writing an article on cosplay, anime, a movie review, a review of a sexual product.... please feel free to contribute!

No moneys will be paid at this time as this is a test run to get the site up and going...

If, however, things are successful and you want to continue submitting to the site, I'm sure we could work out an arrangement on a freelance basis.

Please email all inquiries and submissions to:

Limit on repeats?! What?

If you really fall in love with something, why should there be a limit? That's like saying if you fall in love with a person, you should limit your time with them.

I think its safe to have breaks, but to limit yourself on how often you'll read a book or watch a movie seems a little absurd.

I can't tell you how many times I've watched Empire Strikes Back. I can't tell you how many times I've read Ender's Game or 1984 or Brave New World.

I don't keep track. I go to it when I need it.

Dude.... when I feel bad, or have a headache... the best remedy is Waffle House. Country Ham with scrambled eggs with cheese and hashbrowns, scattered and smothered. Top that with a fizzy coke with a straw and I'm in heaven in minutes.
I said I'd write at least one stream of consciousness blog a month. So, here's February's.

I'm in England. I like it so far. There's still a lot of things I want to do and see while I'm here, but I've been trying to settle in and get my flat sorted the past few weeks. I think I may venture into London again this weekend. We'll see.

I was pretty blah and bored for awhile at first, I think because I was a bit homesick and didn't really know anyone. I still don't know anyone, but yesterday I got in a chipper mood and it's been stuck with me since. I think I may be a bit manic. It's like falling in love, only I haven't fallen in love. But, I feel this refreshed vigor and excitement for some reason. It came out of nowhere. Or did it?

Since making my list of 101 things to do in 1001 days, and actually going ahead and doing a few (ordering things for myself), I've felt much better. I ordered a gorgeous dress from DaddyOs which arrived today and fits pretty awesomely. It's a little big on top (surprise! Usually things are a bit small on top), but it's lovely. Now I just need to find an occasion to wear it!
The Mission: Complete 101 preset tasks in a period of 1001 days.

start date: Saturday, February 16, 2008
end date: Saturday, November 13, 2010

The Criteria: Tasks must be specific (ie. no ambiguity in the wording) with a result that is either measurable or clearly defined. Tasks must also be realistic and stretching (ie. represent some amount of work on my part).

Why 1001 Days? Many people have created lists in the past - frequently simple goals such as new year's resolutions. The key to beating procrastination is to set a deadline that is realistic. 1001 Days (about 2.75 years) is a better period of time than a year, because it allows you several seasons to complete the tasks, which is better for organizing and timing some tasks such as overseas trips or outdoor activities.

1. Make a list of 101 things to do in 1001 days.
2. Keep track of said list and progress.

As a child, I watched wildlife shows with my father quite frequently. Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom, National Geographic specials, and my favorite from that time: Jacques Cousteau.

Something about those shows always captivated me. I suppose it's because in our ever-growing urban environment it's difficult to see wildlife up close. Those shows helped to take us on wild safaris and ocean expeditions that, otherwise, we could only dream of going on.

Steve Irwin did one better. He didn't just draw me into his world, he made his world part of mine. He spoke so passionately and with such wide-eyed wonder about such a range of subjects that it made one feel as if they were actually right there with him. He could hold an audience captive simply by being himself. His passion and zeal for life and the causes he believed in were enormous. This man wasn't just larger than life; he was an abundance of life that flowed into whomever he came in contact with. He was fearless. He studied his entire life to replace fear with consciousness, and if that doesn't speak volumes about life in general, I don't know what does. I will truly miss Steve Irwin, but his legacy and his passion for life will live on through me and hopefully countless others that saw the beauty in him.

ethan's new kindergarten teacher has him memorizing poems about iPods. lol. here it is.

My Teacher Took My iPod, by Kenn Nesbitt

My teacher took my iPod.
She said they had a rule;
I couldn't bring it into class
or even to the school.

She said she would return it;
I'd have it back today.
But then she tried my headphones on
and gave a click on Play.

She looked a little startled,
but after just a while
she made sure we were occupied
and cracked a wicked smile.

Her body started swaying.
Her toes began to tap.
She soon was grooving in her seat
and rocking to the rap.

My teacher changed her mind.
She said it's now okay
to bring my iPod into class.
She takes it every day.
and i'm finally making a real post.

i've learned a lot this past year. i've grown up a lot. not to say that i have it all figured out, but i'm on the right track.

life is beautiful. really. i have this spring-weather-fever since it's been so warm lately. the sun is shining, the sky is cloudless. sure, the leaves on the trees are dead, but the sun is still shining. likewise, despite our own surroundings, we are all capable of shining like the sun. we have that power within us. the power to overcome darkness, the power to give hope to others. so, lets not keep focused on our surroundings. don't look at your life as i have done in the past and see the deadness of it all. see the possibility of life.

Your Social Dysfunction:
Happy

You're a happy person - you have a good amount of self-esteem, and are socially healthy. While this isn't a social dysfunction per se, you're definitely not normal. Consider yourself lucky: you walk that fine line between 'normal' and being outright narcissistic. You're rare - which is something else to be happy about.

episode 3 still makes me cry.

today started out horrible. the kids had to dress for halloween at school, and i didn't have enough money to buy them costumes. so ethan dressed as a sherriff. he had a badge and a cowboy-esque hat and plastic handcuffs. and i just put some fairy wings and makeup on liberty. but anyway, it took longer to get them ready and such. and then i couldn't find my keys. guess where i finally found them. in the ignition. yeah. left them in there overnight. well, i took ethan to his school and then liberty to hers and i had just got back home when ethan's school called and they needed me to bring him some pull-ups. SO...i had to leave again. but on the way there i thought...well, i'll just go to the high school and see if i can go visit some teachers while i'm here. and i did. the only teachers left from when i went to school are mrs. mangham (english), mrs. harbers (physics), mrs. bates (civics), mrs. bottoms (home ec) and dr. dunnahoo (art). that makes me feel old. that nearly all of the teachers are gone. lol. anyway, i talked to all of them and i hung out for the longest in dr. d's room. because he was absolutely my favorite teacher ever. we talked about all kinds of things, and it was great. to get to talk to a grown up. and especially someone as intelligent as him. i painted a picture for him while i was there. it was good times. all in all i'd say the day turned out absolutely lovely.
